I was recently in a small indie record shop in a nearby college town and they not only had brand new turntables for sale, but a fresh batch of LPs.

They said there's a movement among music purists to revive LPs, and claimed the music was better.

WE all know that something was lost when we lost the album art and liners...

But music for me is not front and center, it's the background for my artwork..and to get me through slogging through stuff I hate to do, like housework. So any way I get it is good enough for me. I hate headphones!

I put all my CDs into wallets when I last moved. I searched online for educational wholesalers and bought 36 massive three-ring binders and hundreds of 4-CD-holding inserts. Still takes up two or three shelves in my storage closet, but better than a whole wall like they used to...

Throwing the boxes away was quite heart-wrenching, but I have never looked back...

The vinyl on the other hand still sits in my living room with two turntables that are hooked up only to a pair of headphones.

I see the future of the records and turntable unfortunately being in the basement of my in-laws as we make room for a wean.
