AUTHOR & PHOTOGRAPHER

Scott M. Liddell is an author and photographer based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Across both disciplines, his work consistently explores themes of isolation, existentialism, and the unseen layers of human and architectural environments.

The Prose

As a novelist, his fiction dissects societal decay, nihilistic romance, and speculative futures. His published works include the Glasgow thriller The Beatle Man, the existential study Terra Exitus, and his latest release, Science Fiction.

He is currently developing an extended analytical and a work of historical fiction.

The Nocturnal

Visually, Scott is the creator of Dark Edinburgh, a fifteen-year photographic descent into the Scottish capital at night. Foregoing polished, tripod-mounted techniques, he relies on shooting high-ISO and wide open to capture the gritty, authentic texture of the city in the dark. This ongoing study is strictly anchored in a stark, noir aesthetic.
