Hope you enjoyed the Deacon Brodie images and the Hope you enjoyed the Deacon Brodie images and the words from Stevenson's play of the same name. If you want to read more, the play is available free online as part of a book called "Three Plays".

William Brodie was a Deacon of Edinburgh, a respected cabinet-maker ( Stevenson's father owned furniture he had made ). He used the position to steal keys and, by night, rob people. This double life was part of the inspiration for Stevenson's Jekyll and Hyde.

Thanks to my daughter for playing the part of Brodie. There are more images so he may return, but for now, we'll leave him making his escape...
